Hungarian Baptist Aid, first and foremost pays attention to children and mothers, as well as those refugees who have been lacking medical attention during their route. On Thursday, dr. Éva Varga, a child pediatrician and anesthesiologist, as well as Balázs Révész, a medical assistant, have been on the field taking care of the sick one after another. The primary health concerns include lung diseases, skin problems due to the lack of hygiene, and physical injuries. There were a large number of children amongst those requiring medical help. The humanitarian organization’s work was helped by volunteer translators on the field. In front of the temporary medical center at Nyugati Pályaudvar, those waiting for medical attendance were patient and showed their thankfulness towards Hungarian Baptist Aid’s help offered by the doctor, as well as the medical assistant. Civilians showing up at the field offered to donate medicine, the main needs being pain killers and antiseptics. Hungarian Baptist Aid is present at Nyugati Pályaudvar everyday, taking care of the sick. The humanitarian organization is establishing a waterproof space, tries to offer food every day, as well as clothing and rain jackets to the refugees. There is a large need for appropriate foot ware, sneakers, since many arrived to Hungary with injured feet, wearing sandals.
