In Ukraine and Romania – Hungarian Baptist Aid’s team visited Roma communities living outside the Hungarian border with medical experts from the USA. The common program was started several years ago to help the poorest.
In the last days, fifteen doctors, dentists and nurses arrived from North Carolina to visit Hungarian speaking Roma residents living in extreme poverty in Velyka Dobron (Transcarpathia, Ukraine) and in the neighboring regions. The team worked 8 to 10 hours per day for a week, examined and cured 100 to 150 patients who would have otherwise not get any medical treatment. The dentists pulled out 97 teeth for example.
Another group of 12 doctors, pediatricians and pharmacists from the States traveled to Săcueni (Romania), where also around 150 needy Roma people received medical care per day.
Both of the groups donated medicines to those whom urgently needed them.
