Before the journey, the group took part in theoretical and practical trainings where experts prepared them for the medical risks and possible incidental situations; a security person also joined them.
They visited the Centre Source de Lumière orphanage that was built under the management of HBAid in cooperation with Baptist World Alliance, and a school named Maisond’Espoir. During their stay, there was a break from school so the Hungarian group could set up a VBS for the kids with crafts, sport activities, and Bible stories. Hungarian supporters from “Support a child!” program, alongside with Hungarian entrepreneurs and schools, sent gifts and donations such as school supplies, balls, booklets, pens and coloring books.
The leader of the group, Bora Kim, who had spent several months in Haiti before, said before they left: “We are going to the kids following the loving steps of Jesus. We would like to show them how valuable they are and that they too are capable of creating things. We’ll talk about God and His love, and we will also tell them that we would just stay with them only for a while but He will always be with them.”
